Ford differential Old? 9 inch?
Here one from my yard. No history on it, except I suspect it was once in a 1960 ford truck, and its been sitting right there for at least 2 winters.
I know the pic leave something to be desired. But untill it melts.
So what is it?
How old?
Does it need to go to the dump?

Ford 9", '57 to '85 I think.
A nice rebuilt one is over $1000 on some sites. I paid almost $500 16 years ago. Used to be able to get them for $50. Since yours has the nuts and apparantly the fill plug out of it, I'd guess it's not too good inside. If the housing is good and the carrier isn't broken, you could probably sell it for a small amount. If anything is cracked or broken, scrap time.
NEW housings and carriers are being made by aftermarket companies, plus millions of originals are still out there, so a banged up one isn't worth much.
