Manual 4x4

I would like to get a 7.3 diesel excursions with a manual transfer case. How many were made with manual cases?

Any common problems with the auto transfer cases

Thanks

Exactly 0.

Only "problem" with the auto case is that the shift encoder motor can poop out. Largest problems stem from the stock hubs and owner's lack of maintenance on them.

Both cases are the same, sans shifting action. So one isn't stronger than the other...FYI.

I imagine the electronically-controlled NV273 can be replaced by the manually-controlled version designated the NV271. Probably be easiest to grab the entire setup, including the floorshift, from a Superduty truck, and trace the floor cutout for the shifter from the donor truck.
