transfer case conversion

I have a 1993 Ford F150 4x4. Originally was a push button transfer case that the previous owner started to convert to manual. It has a manual case but the adapter was never changed. I am told I have to have a manual transfer case adapter that will mate with the E4OD tranny. I cannot find one. Can anyone help me?

That is not true. The manual 1356 will bolt right in place of the electric 1356. I've done it.

Somebody done told you wrong. jas88 is right, and I've done the electric to manual conversion myself as well. Bolts right on in about 5 minutes.

he's asking, very poorly, whether or not a transfer case from a manual trans truck will bolt up to his e40d.

Ford even put the hole in the floor for you already for the xfer case shifter. They just glue a plate over the hole on the electric shift models. Heat the edges of it with a propane torch and then use a putty knife to pry it up.

Another tip - use a shifter from an 87-91 truck, they are much cheaper to buy and less prone to failure.
