dealer intake flush

Does anyone know how the dealers are flushing out the intakes when they service your truck. I talked to Koons Ford of Balto today and if though they charge me, they won't tell me how they are doing it.

Loose material

What happens to all the loose material unless they pull the intake? Mike

What problems are you having that you want to flush the intake?

it's blowing black smoke. Giving it fuel and not going anywhere. The dealer told me they replace the EGR valve and flush the intake with a cleaner.
It's like a 400.00 flush

Is it under warantee? My 04 had the intake manifold replaced due to excessive carbon.

I was reading on BG's website they have a new system coming out intended to clean intakes without removing them. Not sure how they pull it off, but this may be what is being offered. $400 seems pretty high.

I have looked inside of mine with the intake elbow removed - its pretty dark in there.

yeah they are telling me it's a flush system they are suppose to use when they replace your EGR valve. They also are telling me Ford is recommending it.
