Why me?

I swear if it's not 1 thing, it's 110 others sometimes.
Yesterday a new piece of pipe for my exhaust shows up at my house... hooray I can finally get that stupid exhaust in and be done with it! I've had the spare tire dropped down to give me more room to work. Get all the pipes hung after a bunch of monkeying around, it looks like that new pipe did the trick Go to reel the spare back into place to check for clearance... WTF??!? My spare tire roller-upper deal is jammed!
I think once I get the exhaust in I'm just going to leave the truck alone for a while (even though there's a lot more I want to do)... I'm convinced it hates me

Chase it's called murphy's law. My only suggestion is to sit back and have a beer! It does happen to all of us!

Chase, If you......

Why dont you......

Maybe you could.......

Aww screw it, I cant think of anything constructive to help you out. Walk away from it for awhile(after hosing down the roller upper thingy with PB BLASTER) go drink a beer, and then go see the in laws, (hell it cant hurt, staying away from them has brought you much frustration)

It really is amazing what walking away for a little while and then come back to it later will do for you. I wish you luck.

Chase, are you sure you are patting her tail pipe the correct way? How are you rubbing her head lights?

There are ways to get her to like you again.

Are you talking about my truck, or my wife?
megawatt00, bdrummonds, randomhero1172, and beanhead6D5- the cold one will require a trip to town once our 3 year old wakes up
greedy737- knock yourself out but I don't think it will help me!

The roller-upper is fixed, somehow the cable became slightly un-twisted and got jammed up inside- with the tire end hooked under the steps, me pulling on the body of it, and my wife turning the crank mechanism we got it unjammed
But now that the spare tire is cranked up into position the tire is jamming the driver's side tailpipe into the shock I'm about ready to box this system up and send it back!

I so know your feelings, and if you are anything like me, working on anothers guys truck, it wouldnt matter what happend, ya just fix it. But there is always that added frustration level when it is your own..

As you mentioned earlier, it wont help, but I am raising one for you.

So far it seems the consensus is to go enjoy a cold one. I like that idea.

When you get back to cussin, I mean looking at the spare tire thing, make sure you didn't lower it down too far. The cable needs to have some tension on it when you wind it back up so it doesn't ball up and cause a bind. Maybe try lowering the cable back out with someone pulling on it to take the slack out. Then apply a little tension on it as you wind it all back up.
