Serpentine Question

Does anyone have experience with setting up a older 302 with a serpentine set up? I have a 74 I really need the extra room in the front for better fans. I was told a 87-93 mustang would be a great donor for this swap. I want to change everything timing cover short reverse water pump a/c power steering alt but of course no smog. I have also heard another good swap would be a 94- 95 mustang because of the 140 amp alt. Did I miss anything ? Is there other swaps that would work well? these years and model were specified because of the location of the p/s pump in relation to the steering box .
I also want to find out if anyone has one of these donor vehicles or one that would work that would be interested in making a deal on everything I need .

I have considered doing this swap too, but if you have air conditioning, I'm not sure it would work.

I have air on my 78 and would like to keep it.

Has anyone done this swap with air?

I don't understand why that would be a problem. You may just have to make hoses and reroute them

Serpentine Question

If you change the front cover you will need an electric fuel pump because there is no way to mount the mechanical pump. From what i read you can still reuse the old cover and run the new belt setup.

Check about the water pumps too. I know the old pumps lower inlet could be on either side depending on what car it was in. I don't know if you have this choice on the newer reversed pumps, and that may cause radiator hose headaches.

Serpentine Question

I think I need the short reverse style water pump to get more room in front of the motor.
That is the main reason for the switch, the others are a/c and higher amp alt. Is there a short shaft water pump that will be ok with this switch?
