I have a 1980 ford f250 4x4 that someone has put a 1968 body on. When I bought the truck it stopped but the brake pedal was soft and went to the floor. I replaced the power brake booster with a new one for a 1968 b/c the 1980 would not mount up. A new 1980 master cylinder. New back brake drums, shoes, adjusters, wheel cylinders, springs and cables. New front pads and rotors. This did nothing so I replaced the front calipers and rubber brake hoses. Now when I drive the truck the front brakes start to lock up after driving a few miles until they are completly locked and I have to open the bleeders to relieve pressure. I was thinking this could be an out of adjustment brake booster push rod or the brake prop./combo. valve. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The fluid expands as it warms up from using the brakes. If the adjustment is too long, it blocks the little holes down in the master cylinder and the fluid has no where to go when it expands.
