DRW axle swap?

I'm probably answering my own question here but is it feasable to swap in a dual rear wheel axle into a single rear wheel truck? Other than the axle, bed, wiring probably, is there anything else to be swapped out? It's a 4x4 F350, so gearing would be a concern, what about springs?

I've done alot of work on the truck to get it how I like it, so I'd rather not sell it and start over but it seems like that might be the easier solution.

Thanks

Anythings possible if you have the time and money. Are you going to change out anything on the front end so all your wheels match or carry 2 different spares?

Are you looking to do this for the stability for towing, Or do you just want a dually.

the springs will mount up, if you are going from a SRW 4x4 to a DRW 4x4 then you will have to regear the front axle. (3.73's and 4.10's dont play well together). The bed for both trucks is the same, and you can get the fender flares for about $500 from some of our sponsors. they just need to know if it is a short or long bed, as the flares for a short dually have the fuel door in them.

I looked into doing this with another member a while back..but plans fell short..his DRW 4 x 4 had the 3.73's in it..yes there is 373 DRW rear ends..we crossed everything and did a lot of comparisons ..you just need the rear end and front hub adapters... if your going to be a true DRW truck..if you just want stability..then one of these kits could be used...but keep in mind..this adds wight to the truck..that means less weight you can put on the truck...http://www.duallyfendersusa.com/http...lyAdapters.asp

I originally got my PSDto tow around my 4x4 project truck. The PSD was to be my daily driver, so I passed on the dual rear wheel. Now I've inherited a motorcycle and the 4x4 truck's almost ready for the road, so I wouldn't have to drive the PSD all the time now. Just from what you've all said already, I think I'd be better off sticking w/ what I have or getting a different truck.

The beds are a little different they are cut out around the wheel wells I thought I had a better pic but I didn't .The reason for the cut out I am unsure of but maybe for additional wheel travel of the outside wheel
