What's the cause??

Progressivly rough starts when cold and run roughs when warmed up. There is blue smoke when ideling and light throttle. I tried Hot Shots additive and things only got worse. It's getting to the point where I think it's going to leave me stranded. I did clean the EGR valve. There was some soot but not to bad. There also was some moisture on there. I've had the EGR cooler go out once before and these are not the symtoms of that. I also run custom tunes that turn the EGR off but if the valve is shot would it open up easier? I've also tried different tunes and that didn't make a difference. The fuel filters were also changed and that made no difference. I pulled a code of p0006 with the SCT but can not find what that means.

Is it a couple of bad injecters, bad EGR valve(it makes a rattling noise when shaken), bad icp senser or regulater?

Any help from the very smart people here would be appreciated.

Could not find anything on your code. If the engine has a miss when warmed up it sounds like injectors to me.

Is there a way to test the injecters with a volt or ohm meter or am I going to have to go to the dealer for that? I hate going there.

Well I got into the dealer today to have the truck looked at. Injecter #8 is bad. The Tech said the injecter " laid down". Does anybody know what this means? They wanted 300 for the injecter and 230 for install. All I had them do is the inductive heating flash. Strange enough the truck runs better, for now. All in all it was a good dealer experience. I was up front about the tuner and they didn't give me a hard time about no kitty.

Now the big questions, was the inj. going bad a fluke or do I need to check other things? And should I buy an inj. and install or call Spartan for a new set of either the "economy", "tow", or"stage 1's"?

You might try the Hot Shot's Seceret oil additive for the injector.

How is your fuel economy w/ an injector "laying down"?
