Ok here is what I have done so far:
6637 - Intake Mod
DP Tuner
60 Tow
80 Tow
80 Ecno
100 race
140 smoke
4" SS magnaflow exhaust.
(FYI: I have not seen any increase in MPGS on any of the mods)
Here is the question ,is there a way to minimize the responsiveness of the diesel or the turbo lag. I was racing my buddy who has an 2004 Escalade which he can get the jump on me by a 1/2 - 3/4 of a truck length becuase of reponse of the gas engine. Once I hit 60-80 I staart pulling on him.
Aslo what other mods should I do....keeping costs in mind.
Zoodad, Cold air box for your 6637, overboost annihalator ($40), CCV Mod (not for performance just a must-do), Valve Body (more expensive but well worth the $$ for $200)
Are you power braking and getting the RPM up or just mashing on the go pedal? You should have near instantaneous boost if you are power breaking off the starting line.
Intercooler change, hpx oil line, wicked wheel or better is the ATS housing change,AIH delete, 203 stat. I think your dying off in power if you don't have the over boost annilaitor. when the SES light comes on it defuels until you let off it for about 40 sec. IMOP any thing over 100hp on your tunes these stock HPOP can't keep up.
From what I have gathered on this forum, your inquiry as to how to reduce the turbo lag can be answered by an upgraded turbo such as the Turbonetics BB which lots of folks say spools up quite a bit quicker than the stock unit. It's expensive, about $1600 just for the turbo (and then you might as well change the up-pipes, the pedestal, the intercooler pipes complete with new boots) but that is what I will do for my 01 DRW when the time comes.
