Hi all, i got a 2002 f250 with a 10" lift and 38" tires and was looking into the rapid hitch. I have always been a solid steel kind of person by the fact that i can change the height of this and they are claiming it to be stronger than steel seems great to me. I want to know what you guys think of towing with an aluminum drop ball and if the rapid hitch would be the way to go. here's the link if you don't know what im talking about. Hitch Solutions The Rapid Hitch
Thanks
I've had a Rapid Hitch for about 2 yrs now...and am very happy with it. Still looks new due to the design...and I have towed long and heavy. One trip from Claremore, OK back home to ABQ, NM. The matching locking pin set is another nice feature. I have had no neg issues...and would buy another one without hesitation.
OBTW: Shop around for the best price. The Rapid Hitch pricing is all over the place (on the high side). I ended up purchasing from Amazon.com and saved big time.
my anderson trailer hitch broke, but it was probably a good thing! i was heading down a hi way and ironically somebody else's trailer came off and head toward our direction. well long story short, it hit my cargo and knocked it on two wheels i suppose, and incidentally my hitch broke instead if bending probably saving me from rolling over..but 1 scary part is that it also broke one safety chain and i pulled it about 50 yards down the highway stopping on one safety chain. So i think it did its job and saved us from being rolled over in the median. enough that i will probably buy another....maybe(maybe) if it was steel that it would have rolled and totaled out my truck also!!!!! incidentally the brake safety switch was longer than the one remaining safety chain so the trailer brakes did not lock up.... any way i think they are worth it...
thanks biz, i plan on shopping around and the items a little pricey but i guess for the design its worth it. Thanks.
edit: this might be a great design but might not fit my truck. is the maximum drop 10" with this hitch or does anyone know the range of the drop?
Good question...here is a quote from there website.

Have had one of these hitches for about three years. Works great, I have towed many different trailers and with the adjustment you can be assured that the trailer will always be level(and tow correctly).
well i like em, might order one soon but i need to check my reciever height and call the people to make sure it goes up to 12". or im just going to pick up a steel one locally. Thanks for the help.
