Which one

I have a 98 F150 5.4 and was thinking about a programer. what is the best bang for the buck out there that can be moved to a new truck in the future in needed.

Hope all is well, You would be happy with SCT's X3 power flash unit. The same unit can be used on your 98 and if you got another truck, once its returned an unlock status, it then could be used on another Ford vehicle.

I would also suggest looking at Edge, Super Chips and Sniper's offerings.

I believe Superchips is falling behind in the toy category, but they do have good tuners. Edge has that display which is pretty nice for on the fly adjustment and the gauges. Sniper is very slick, but not as user easy. You get a lot of options for tuning, but it's a bit more involved. It's hard to go wrong with any choice (other than ebay's resistor chips) right now.
