I have a 1999 F250 daily driver. I have been researching lifts for a little while because i want a more aggressive look. The donahoe kits have a great rep, but right behind them, I hear is pro comp. I tow alittle and off road a little. Mainly looking into a lift for the look. Anyone have any recommendations? Anyone ever install a procomp lift? Pro comp has some pretty fair deals on there complete lifts. Donahoe are expensive but i hear worth the pennys.
Thanks
I have a 6" ProComp lift kit on my 03 F-250.. I am real pleased with it. I have had no trouble with it at all. I do some off road and I tow alot. I would recomend it no prob..
I have donahoe on my current 05 coil sprung truck and love it. However, I did have pro comp leaf springs on my 04 due to being talked into them by the lift shop. They rode very nice, but unfortunately sagged an inch and a half on the drivers side and an inch on the passenger within three days. Needless to say, they came off and back to the shop and I ordered some custom Deaver springs and loved them!!! No sagging, and rode real nice. You do get what you pay for usually.
i run a 4" pro comp, it's been on since july '06, and has been problem-free. the springs are intended for a diesel, so under my 5.4 they're a little firm, but personally i don't mind it. i got my kit shipped to my door for kess than $700.
I have a Pro Comp lift too, I have no problems and it rides great because i was smart enough to upgrade the shocks to the MX6s. Don't settle for the Cheap shocks that come with the kit. Or what ever kit you get upgrade the shocks. The MX6s are adjustable, Rancho also makes adjustable shocks. Rancho also has buy 3, get one free right now. MX6s or Rancho 9000 are about $90 a piece. Is Don. Racing shipping stuff out now?

Im looking for a good 4" right now, and live in GR, did you buy it local? and also did it come with blocks? and do you ever run into Axel wrap?
and sorry for the thread hijack

nope, i bought it online. came with rear blocks, but i made my own traction bars, so no axle wrap.
Thanks for all of the advice guys. I am thinking of putting it up on the 6" lift but i am worried that i may have to extended brake lines among other modifications. Anyone familiar with the 6" kit, what extra expenses will be incurred when lifting the truck? Ive heard something about balancing the driveshaft?
I did not have any extra expences with my 6". I tow a boat and was worried about driveline vibs too but I was told that is usually not a factor until you go to about 8" lift. I have had mine on now for 3 years and it has been trouble free.
I put on my Pro Comp 4" lift back in April 2004. Easy install but the instructions were not that good. After four years of running this lift, I would have to say that the only problem that I have had is that the front springs are now sagging and I am looking to upgrade. I would have to agree that you may need to get better shocks.
I'm running the ProComp lift and had no problems at all. There is no sag and it's been on the truck 4 1/2 years. This truck is used off road and the only thing with my 8" lift is it is a little stiff.
hate to bring back an old thread but thinking of putting one in my truck 6' procomp some great deals on the internet. any coments on the 6" procomp on a 05-07 with springs?? any pics?? will a 37" toyo tire fit under there??
I had the 4" pro comp lift on an 02 with the 7.3.....wasn't bad. Then decided to go with a 6" donahoe and what a difference. Nice ride, was able to run 37 toyos under it.
