Hey guys,
I got a 86 F-250 2wd XLT with at 351W and a C6, the motor that I have in it now has got 3 piston skirts missing on it so its knocking badly. I've found a motor from a junkyard that someone has attempted to rebuild and couldn't finish it. What my questions are is, do I need a new flywheel or can the one off the 86 351w work? Do I need to change the harmonic balancer also? I have the block numbers to my best reading skills. Im getting the motor for $200 and I'm only going to need to put my intake on it cause its a 2barrel and mines a 4barrel. And my oil pan. The rest of the stuff I'll just have to change over on the motor like ac,ps,alt etc. But do i need a different flywheel or harmonic balancer? I think that It will all work but I'd just like some reassurance. Thanks guys

All 351W's share the same 28oz balance weight, so you should be able to just swap parts over. The one question I have is the real seal. I don't know when (or even if) truck 351's switched to a one-piece rear seal. Sombody more familiar with truck motors will have to help you with that.
Its okay guys, I read the block numbers from the original motor that I'm taking out, and then compared it to the motor im putting in, and the numbers are both d9XX-6015-XXXX
so that means the oil pan will work because its the same block, what a relief that was to me. Thanks for your help guys.
