V-10 swap

I am putting a new v-10 in my 04 F-250, The old one started smoking pretty bad and I got a good deal on a new one. Anyways I was wondering after i put the motor in is it possible to reset the odometer back aways to for the new motor or can the digital odometer not be changed?

I don't know if it's possible. Do know it's not legal.

Not legal! The only thing you can do for re-sale purposes is advertise freshly re-built engine, low mileage. Keep any reciepts as proof of overhaul, can be be a good selling feature if all documentation is up to date.

It's illegal. Those are miles are on the truck, not just on the engine. If you replace the trans, would you start over the odometer over? What about brakes, or exhaust? Those are miles on the truck itself, not just the engine.

Keep records of the swap, but don't replace the odometer.
