351w or 351m???
the 351w uses a wet style intake and has a aluminum front timing cover. the thermostat housing bolts directly to the intake. the rocker covers are narrow and the oil sending unit is located to the left of the oil filter when viewed from the drivers front fender.
the 351m uses a dry intake. the thermostat housing bolts to the block instead of the manifold. the oil sending unit is located near the rear of the engine mounted about center of the intake manifold. the "m" has a cast in timing cover extention with a flat steel plate that covers the timing gear and chain. the rocker covers are wide when viewed from the the fender looking across engine bay.
