Instrument Cluster

Here is the story

Driving down highway and lost power train power - engine would not respond and stayed at 1000rpm. Check engine soon light flashing - theft light flashing - and odometers numbers turned into lines. Pulled over turned off and restarted, drove to dealer. 2nd test drive at dealer it happened to them. No error codes found and assumption is corroded instrument cluster is causing (activating) anti theft device. They advised me not to replace cluster until we know for sure and drive it and hopefully it will get worse and error code will be found.
Anyone have an answer? Solution? I have a tad under 100,000 miles and like truck and dealer. 5.4 engine in vehicle

What year is the truck and was it raining while you were driving?

Yes, this is characteristically an issue with a wet GEM and/or corroded fuse block due to a leak in the windshield.
