thanks Matt
Found mine high and tight near the radio and heater controls. It was zip-tied to a big group of wires. It is located on the right hand side of the steering wheel.

What I think you are seeing are the auxiliary wires. They just run from inside the cab...into the engine compartment. So...you can hook up stuff...without drilling holes.

But pics would be GREAT!

picture #1 - picture of the wires

picture #2 - closeup of wires

Picture #3 - what the hookup might be...but it only has 5 wires coming out and the clip on top is broken.

It's hard to tell for sure from the pictures but I think the wires in #1 and #2 are the passthru wires that are put in for aftermarket accessories. Is it up above the parking brake? You will probably find matching color wires on the other side of the firewall by the master cylinder.

Pic#3 looks like it is the brake controller plug, but it does appear to be broken. My guess is whoever owner your truck before you got mad when he was trying to take his controller out and ended up breaking the plug. It is a pain to reach, and I can see that happening.

in pic#3 how many prongs are supposed to come through on the other side. There is only 5...the reason it is broken is because the clip on top is cracked as well as the plastic housing. i think it will still work if thats it tho.

I'm 99% sure there is only supposed to be 5 wires. Most aftermarket controllers only use 4 of them anyway.

Yeah it will probably still work, you might have to tape your connector in place to make sure it doesn't fall out though.
