ignition troubles??
my 302 tends to start half skipping at 1800rpm, when crusing on the highway, in od. the motor has 60,000 km's on it, has a rebuilt carb, new wires, plugs, and a new duraspark unit... now i'm thinking the distrubuter, which has 400,000km's( to my knowlage) could it be just burnt out?? i've tried a E-style coil(happened to have one lying around) in it, and it did the same thing...

Have you played with the timing? Try turning it back a little, or tempoarily unplug the vacuum advance. If this helps, you could leave the timing set back a little, or try a cooler sparkplug and see if that helps. If taking the vacuum advance line off helped, and you want to leave your base timing up high, you could get an aftermarket adjustable vacuum advance unit, and set it for a little less advance.

i checked it the other day, and the timming was off 2 degrees, it was set to 2 degrees insted of 4. i don't know why it changed, cause i know the distrubuter didnt' move..
