Check engine light

I have a 1999 F-150 4x4 with a 4.6 automatic. The check engine light keeps coming back on, I have the auto parts reset it. It shows a code for Not enough Air Flow to the EGR. we changed the EGR and cleaned the manifold the best we could where it bolts on. Any thoughts! Light seems to come back on when it is wet or damp outside or alot of moisture in the air.......?

Usually it is a bad DPFE sensor (EGR sensor, not the valve itself).

It is a rectangular box with a plug on it and two small hoses that run to the EGR tube coming up from the exhaust to the valve.

Thanks

I've got the same problem. I also changed out the valve, but no luck. I've thought about changing the downstream 02 sensor, but now I'm interested in seeing how things turn out with your truck. Good luck.

Before spending another penny, read the thread from a couple of days ago in the Expy/Gator forum (same engine and system, you know).

Should be this one: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l?nojs=1#links

Dang, I wish they'd judiciously use stickied posts here. Gets old repeating the same thing over and over....

Sigh...

If the DPFE doesn't fix it, the EGR ports in the throttle body need to be cleaned.
