I know this sounds dumb...Ok nobody ever said i was the smartest duck on the pond.
Question is.... does anyone know of a website that shows what the different FORD trucks weigh, complete! !
I am wanting to buy a trailer but want to make sure I get one rated strong enough to haul anything from a 1/2 on 2 wheel drive to a 3/4 4x4.......but i do not need it to haul a tank!
I know it sounds silly but any help would be appreciated!
Thanks tim

I would guess a trailer rated minimum of 7,000 especially if there may be some stuff in the bed of the one you are hauling
My '73 F100 long bed weighs 4800 and my '92 F150 flareside weighs 5000. I find that odd because the '92 is a smaller truck with the short flareside bed. I would have thought that the '73 would weigh more.
There is only shipping weight that is known.
because of dealer options they cannot get weight on a possibly unfinished truck but they can before they load it on a car carrier or Train freight car carrier.
This shipping weight.
Based upon the info above, if you got a trailer with tandem 3500# axles you should be good to go. Weight of the truck + trailer itself shouldn't exceed 7000#, IMO.
I have a Texas Bragg 16' with new wood and axles as described above, hauled off some steel yesterday and the empty weight of trailer and truck (73 f-100 LWB, 360) when I came across the scales was 5,290# If the truck is in the 4K# range by itself. the trailer must weigh 1200 or so.
It's hard to believe that some of these 73-79 F100s actually weigh less than my 2000 Ranger. How can that be, when the Ranger visibly looks to be so much smaller?
