why would a cali have more pressure? just wondering.

To my knowlege the only differences on Cali's are split shot injectors and PCM tuning.

they do have differant fuel pumps

Same fuel system with the exception of the fuel regulator (higher pressure). Also has a damper in the system to absorb spikes from the mechanical pump and inj's. The pressure is higher for the split inj.

The reason I ask is, I was reading a thread about boost guage and there was reference to a cali having a higher boost reading.

stock for stock they should be about the same, the difference comes after a tuner is added, the cali's have the 120(i think) injectors so the tuner can demand for fuel and the injectors can flow it
