Random interesting questions

First I'd like to say that I had the 7.3L a year ago It was a '99 and I loved it...I couldn't believe the crap it pulled me out of and pulled with no problem... When I bought it...it had guages and I found the guy who owned it and he had the hypertech tuner on it ( no idea what tune). It was fast and powerful...I couldn't get stuck if I wanted to with regular 285-75-16 tires on her.

I own a 2004 F-350 Lariat now and it doesn't have that loud whine of the turbo echoing off the houses as I drive by that my old one did . Maybe the tune the old one had would cause that?

Also I got stuck the other day in some deep as dirt...dumb idea of pulling off the road into a ditch and bank where they were doing construction to "test" the new truck...whoops...damn I was buried. I thought the "auto" hubs locked in with my switch...guess that doesn't work...I had to get out to lock them but either way I got pulled out by an 08 F350. So my vacuum is messed up on my truck...But when I tried rocking my truck to get unstuck, while shifting gears between forward and Reverse it would rev down and take a second or two to rev up again...no rocking possible, that sucks, is that normal?????? My tires aren't great so if anyone has some 285-75-16, or maybe up to a 315 or 32" they can get me at a good price I would very much appreciate it...Thanks again.

Last one...gas mileage, i get 14-15 around town. Is that normal? I want better.

The good is...my truck is amazing...I drive it over my wifes 30 MPG car on long road trips just so I can sit up tall, look at her and say..."oh yeah, you here that diesel, yeah thats my truck, good girl<the truck" Lets beat the diesel prices...don't let it beat us...these ford diesels are what makes a man feel like a man, I drive mine for fun.

Thanks for listening...Hope you all have a great weekend.

Don't blame the motor for getting stuck it sounds as if your tires suck and btw the 5r110 is way better than the 4r100.

Your about average on the mileage, my 05 used to get about 15 mpg around town and 17-18 on the hwy. Now that I lifted it and have 325/65-18 tires on it I average about 13.5-14 mpg around town.

If your old truck had a tuner on it then it most likely had an aftermarket exhaust also.
Just add a 4" exhaust system and you will have better sound and performance on your new truck.
