http://www.theledlight.com/ Scroll down they have the luxeon upgrades for the
maglights and these are some super bright bulbs and are worth the money since
if you use the lights alot you will save on batteries. If you replace batteries once
or twice a month you will see a return rather quickly, If you only replace once or
twice a year it might not be worth it or would take longer to get back your investment
You could buy the leds yourself and then take apart an old bulb and solder in the
led and resistor right into the old tunsten bulbs base. It works good for the taillights
in your car and you can customize how they look by getting different brightness
bulbs or even adding in a couple of blue ones to give the blue dot effect for classic
cars.
I've been using the VisionX led flashlight and it has been great. I have 3 regular mag lights and this one. It also comes with a 2AA cell led light in the same package. The LED flashlight has a nice wide spread and gives an even flood light pattern.
I went shopping at Ace Hardware store, and as I was waiting in line, they had these
LED flashlghts in a display box, so I picked one up, checked it out, and bought it.
It has 8 standard LEDs, and a infrared laser pointer. Uses 3 AAA batteries.
I work in the communications industry and use my L.E.D nearly every day and still have the same batteries that I put in over a year ago. Now I will say a guy I work with has one and his is much brighter than mine and I don't know why. As far as bright they are extermely bright his has a blueish tint and is much brighter than mine which makes me wonder why? Both bulbs are the same but I can't figure it out. You will not be dissapointed.
I just upgraded my 2 cell maglite with the led, and bought a new 2 cell with the led. The light is "different" somehow. But I think it is way brighter and much easier to focus into a narrow beam. I can't speak to the battery life, cause I just bought them and new batteries last week.
