Just wondering if any of u fellow FTE would happen to know were i could get a exhaust back pressure valve ... i gutted mine a few months ago thinking it would be a good idea since i didnt tow much now im towing more often and would like to convert mine into an exhaust brake.
I have one, but its the "sticking" unit that you dont want. I would give it to you but its really, really frustrating. I wouldnt wish that kind of frustration on anyone. Im sure ron will help you out. However, I dont think my pedistal leaked, well much anyways. Good luck.
thanks guys for the responses i didnt even notice they were there i usally get a email but hadnt gotten one yet. well anyways i also upgraded my turbo not to long ago to a 2000 model turbo along with the goods like the pedestal and uppipes and what not. But on my orignal turbo and pedestal i took out the lil flap on the exhaust side of the turbo and pluged the pedestal but now that i upgraded i have a fully functioning pedestal but when i got the turbo it did not come with the back portion with the lil flap sorry i dont know the correct term. ill see if i cant find a picture

this is what i did to mine and u can see in the pics i took what they call the butterfly plate completely off wich has no problems but i need the exhaust back pressure valve housing so that i can convert it to the kwik brake.
Are you referring to the wastegate in the turbine housing now? There is that, and the butterfly EBV valve in the systems and that is about it except for the items that activate them.
im not sure if the photo will work but i need this pieace so that i can complete the brake set up because as i had mentioned i took the butterfly plate out.
I have one from my 02, but like i said, it sticks, i know lookin in it the housing does not match the butterfly valve. If you want it though, its yours. I hate it.
well the picture i put up was off a google seach to show you guys what i was talking about and if im not mistaken it should be of and OBS 94-97 7.3. and ron i actually used my older model ebpv housing off my old turbo and it bolted right up. im kinda embarresed seeing as i gutted the housing one day and a week later the brake mod came up .And rebelchevy02 i would really appreciate it if i could , but i wonder does it stick because of the sensor or because its some how jammed?

Its either the housing or the actual butterfly thats warped, it sticks, no actuator required. You can actually see non-symmetrical gaps around the butterfly to prove just that. I have all the rest of the stuff I took off aswell. (ebpv, ebpv pedistal, probably the linkage around somewere). Ill look around tomarro and see what I can gather up. What all would you like to have?
Ill have to look at it again, if you want, i can take a pic tomarro, and send it to you, pre shipping it. I cant remember what it looks like. Im sure you could take it out and file it or something, it just might not be as good a close as the factory wanted, if you know what i mean, but it could still be functional. I didnt want to mess with it, and i hate it, so i replaced it with nonebpv equiptment. It really upset me lol.
