removing steering wheel
I am putting a new steering wheel on my truck and can't get it off. I took the nut off but can't pull it off once the nut was removed.
Is there anything else that need to be done other than removing the nut????

or
get a friend to hit the nut (first position nut on end of shaft to protect threads) with a hammer while you are pulling the wheel evenly toward to.
"If you don't have the nut on the shaft ,the hammer will ruin the threads and the wheel will nail you in the forehead".

Mine was on so tight what I had to do was put the puller on and have someone pull up on the wheel and then hit the main bolt in the puller. Most bolts that come with a puller are soft so you don't strip out the threads of what you are pulling but care should be taken but I had to smack it several hard good ones to break it free.
Use some anti-seize when you put it back on.
