2005 Mark LT
Hi,
Newby to these forums. I've spent many years on Mustangforums.com and have been a Ford fan my whole life.
My grandfather has a 2006 Mark LT. It's mostly stock with the only modifications being; a Magnaflow catback, K&N cold air intake and a bed cover. He wants more pickup out of it and wanted to know what type of performance chip works best with the 5.4. He was also thinking about getting a set of aftermarket headers. He wants to get as much out of it without cracking open the motor. He's upset that my Grandmothers previous car('05 Navigator) had more get up and go, mostly attributed to the 6-speed vs. 4-speed transmission.
He's 77 but still has the desire to put his foot in it every once in a while. Just fifteen years ago he owned over 60 Ford cars/trucks including a '69 GT-500 Conv., '70 Boss 302, '71 Boss 351 and many Mach 1's.

A tuner will help with the responsiveness of the throttle by wire. Most people here will recommend the Edge tuner because it gives you the gauges and pretty good canned tunes. There is now a guy out there doing custom tunes for the edge tuner (I forgot his name).

Thanks for the input. Does anyone know if Edge offers up a setup that does not come with a display. My Grandfather would prefer not to have an aftermarket display in his car.
Also what type of power gains have people seen with an edge? Or what type of claims does edge make?
