It's safe to do, but it seems to get much better reviews from the OBS guys than us for some reason.

I still would like to try it on my truck, but I want to set it up on a rotary switch in the cab with 3-4 settings, I think that would be the ticket.

basically, the general concensus i have gathered is it is ok on trucks that aren't chipped.

only complaints are rough idle.

You can fix the rough idle with a relay that detects the idle validation switch position, and switches the resistor out of the circuit when the IVS is made.

Go ahead and try the 10k. It works great with the pedal relay switch to cut it off at idle. You'll have more power and it's safe to use without gauges. I've never heard of anyone hurting their truck because of it. It will work fine on an '02. Been there, done that.

Been here, tried that, stacked it with a BullyDog programmer..... just save the $400 up and get a DP Tuner,

If you just want to try it for a quickkie, unplug your ICP sensor, look at the contacts of the plug it will look like this push one lead of a 10K resistor in the right eye, and one in the mouth, replug into sensor(with resistor in place). give it a try its only 1.95 for a pack of 5 resistors at Radio shak

try it my way if you are going to do it, i have no rough idles and no check engine lights, and i have tried the way described above and mine works better, its simple to follow ohms law to see why the inline method is better then the bypass method. my truck likes the 14.7k better then the 10k, i get more power with it.
