I just want to tell anyone who is considering getting their trucks undercoated anytime to reconsider, because I will tell you, it has just been an absolute joke what this undercoating material has done to my vehicle since Ziebarts sprayed my 1995 F350 16 months ago. I had just bought my truck and was concerned about the rusting problems it was having, and these clowns sprayed their goo all over it, and drenched every bolt and wire with this thick goopy undercoating rubber, and all it has done is capture even more moisture and made my rusting problem worse, and has made every mechanical project from then on a joke. I have spent the last two days completely chipping and sanding my underside of my truck, from the insde of the frame, to removing every inner fender flare to get all of the rust/sand/salt/undercoat off my truck. My truck now looks brand new underneath because I did it myself, so seriously if you guys really love your vehicles, sand them your selve and dont apply that undercoating BS, just use Rustoleum or POR 15, something way thinner so the underside can still breathe and get oxygen so rusitng doesnt occur. Also, dont put in a drop in liner, because that also creates a bathhouse for rust to live underneath.
couldn't agree more. I took my bed off and was a little leary to remove the undercoating, it looked brand new. I took on the task to take it off, and man what a shocker. There was a lot of surface rust under the under coating. I am now finishing the underside with Rust Bullet to encapsulate the underside. I'll probably still use some type of rubberized undercoating only in the wheel housing just to keep the noise from stones and such down. Lesson learned on the undercoating stuff though...be careful.
Yes exactly, deff a lesson learned, it was a horrible alternative to just getitng down and dirty and doing it myself. I looked like a cross dresser because of al lthe rust on my face looked like eye liner when I was done but it was worth it
