Okay guys with all the talk about exhaust & headers here lately. Any response on Ford headers? I read one post about a guy running them but not much was said! I had a few minutes yesterday and searched "Ford Racing Performace" catalog. There were two sets, stainless or ceramic coated. The stainless set showed to be approx 310.00 & 390.00 for the ceramic. I'm not not ready for headers yet (to many other mods to do first!!) but I don't think this is a bad deal! At least for FORD headers?!?! What do Y'all think
Its a good price for headers, but the main concern to me is the Y-pipe. You spend $$$ on headers but still have the crappy restrictive y-pipe. There is one major advantage to just replacing headers IMO, you can actually keep a set of studs or bolts on them without them snapping off.
Oops! Sorry I didn't elaborate dkf. I've already replaced the Y-pipe. Ordered the cat-back system Monday, I'll wait until I have broken studs or manifold, before headers become a priority! I just thought they would be camparable (quality wise) to Banks, thorley, etc.

OK.
The Ford headers look very comparable to the JBA headers. I'm shure the quality will be fine. People have been putting Ford headers on mustangs for quite some time now.
If you want to save some cash just get the raw stainless headers. Clean up any weld spatter, skuff up the headers and clean them good. Go to Napa, Advanced, Autozone and etc and get a can of Duplicolor 1200 degree ceramic header paint in the "Aluminum" color. A can costs $5-$6 and will easily do 2 headers. I use this paint to touch up the ceramic coating on my Thorley headers and to keep them from rusting. The stuff works well, prep is important though.
