I have a '95 F-250 with the 7.3 powerstroke. I had some cold start problems a while back and thanks to the great help I received here, I traced it to a bad GPR. Anyway I replaced the relay and checked my glow plugs. They all ohm out at 1.0 ohms which I believe is good. The thing is, that the truck seems to take longer to turn over now when I start it. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm. I can see the GPR activating on the battery gauge. and the outside temperature doesn't seem to matter (the coldest it's been is about 58 deg. and in the upper 70's during the day). My engine oil level is good and I don't see any smoke while cranking the engine. The engine spins up quickly but I need to stay on the starter for about 8-10 seconds before the engine catches. It seemed to fire quicker before ,even with the bad relay( as long as the weather was warm). We have an older IDI diesel at work at it fires with a couple of turns of the crank. Is there something I should check? I often go up into the mountains or into remote areas for hunting or fishing and I sure would hate for the truck to die there ( you know how Murphey's Law goes). Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I put the charger on my batteries and they both were at about 80%. After an overnight charge and bring both up to 100% the truck now turns over in 2-3 seconds. I sure am thankful for this site and all of your help. It is next to impossible to get help or work done on these trucks here in Hawaii unless you want to get ripped off at the stealership. Thanks again!
