I've got a 98 f150 4.6l xlt extcab. I just put on a Super 44 flowmaster. It's not as loud as i think it should be. It sounds deep and throaty but not as loud. I heard there may be some resonators on the line, and possibly 4 cats. What is the best/efficient/affordable way to get it louder? thanks for the help.
The restrictions are going to be on the exaust pipe, there is only about 16 foot of it under the truck should not be hard to find. Be careful about removing all cats as it will affect o2 sensors.
Cut your back two cats off and have pipe put in there place or cut all four cats off and have two high flow cats put in there place.
thanks for all the replies... it is the 40 series super 44 delta flow, flowmaster says it's their deepest/loudest. if i cut the back cats off go straight through will that screw up my emissions? i'm in CA.
Ewww yeah it might. Im not for sure. We dont have any kind of emissions or anything here in Kentucky. You may have to go ahead and cut all 4 off and replace them with 2 high flow cats. I would recommend the Tunderbolt high flow cats. http://stores.channeladvisor.com/per...inless%20Steel
