Pulled into the parking lot this morning and off goes my idler pulley. (*&%. So because I'm dumb - I didn't realize what it was until I tried to turn into a row by my building. And again because I'm dumb, I went into work to let them know I was here (there) and then went out to find it. I didn't find it. No where. I suspect so do-gooder picked it up. In five minutes.
So the help me part: there are two sizes of pullies? 3.5" and 5"? How do I know which one to buy? Does it matter?
And the bonus question: what size bit for the pulley bolt? Its a star bit I think.
Alright - now I get to stress out for four hours until lunch...
It was the idler pulley. $37 with bearing from autozone. I didn't have the right tools, but with the pulley gone so I could get the bolt out with vice-grips.
The ball bearings inside the bearing assembly were partially melted. Nice.
