Fordtruckster is posting similar mileage gains just by using 93 octane in his stock V10.
How much of your mileage gain do you attribute to the custom tune and how much to using the 91 octane gas alone?
Got no answer to that one beefeater. Never did calculate MPG with the stock tune and 91 Oct gas. I do know that it made zero difference to the acceleration performance by using 91 Oct with the stock tune. I have a test section of road that I check top speed achieved at a specific driveway. A little better than the seat of the pants dyno method. The stock factory tune would achieve 110 KM/HR. The 93 Oct tune achieves 125 KM/HR time after time.

If I'm easy on it, I've been getting 11.5 to 12 mpg all around and about 14 mpg highway @ 65 mph. The truck only has 1900 miles on it but it seems the duals helped out a slight amount.
Sounds like we are in the same ballpark then. I am averaging 11.5-12 driving to and from work, and I hit 14.5 headed to Cape Cod. I think in hindsight the 4.10s would have been enough for me, but I have had too many damn vehicles with NOT ENOUGH GEAR. Oh well right?

You should have known it was too good to be true
Does it really matter whose gallon is what size or what your personal MPG is? The point I was trying to make was that I have found 2 MPG for a minimal amount of cost.
Yes those are imperial gallons. The calculations were done by hand using the trip meter and gas reciepts. Not sure on gears but I am suspecting that they are 3.73's. Tach is pegged at 2000 RPM with the cruise on 110 km. The 93 Oct tune gives an extra 31 rear wheel HP. I should be very close to 400 Hp at the flywheel with the 93 tune. Not sure what the torq figures are for any of the tunes. Maybe Mike will chime in on that.
Just got back from my first long range trip with my reconfigured SCT power tune by 5 Star Tuning. I am happy to report that I have gained 2.5 MPG over the original factory stock tune. The truck has consistently gotten 14 MPG at highway speeds (cruise on 110 KM/HR) since I owned it. It now gets 16.5 MPG consistently. Combined city and highway has gone from 12 MPG to 14 MPG. Am I happy? U-Bet! My gratitude to Mike @ 5 Star Tuning grows every time I drive the truck.
