what trans behind 4.9

OK I have done a search in this thread and am very surprised that this has not been asked befor. Maybe I used the wrong wording but anyway. Does anyone know what trans is behind the 4.9 six in a 90-91 F-150 Supercab? It is an auto trans and the overdrive button on the dash.

probably the E40D I have a 95 with the inline six and thats what mine has I also have the overdrive. Reverse is out in mine...

The E4OD is the only transmission with an overdrive button in those years.

My 1988 4.9 has an AOD.

Don't have the truck yet just thinking ahead as to what I can do. I haven't ever had a newer model truck with all this electronic stuff on it. Not sure what I am getting myself into with it but I have always had good luck with the strait sixes and was wondering about the trans. This E40D is it anything like the old C4?
