cheap truck

hey guys,
anybody know of a cheap 4x4?
not looking for a DD or anything, just a cheap beater i can use for 4x-ing at the farm.
it wont be driving on any roads, pure private land.

preferably something small like a BII explorer or ranger, but any brand other than ford will work too..

i have been on the lookout for a while but havent really found anything that doesnt need alot of work. thought maybe you guys might no of something a neighbor has, or maybe even yourselves. any good deals on kijiji or anyother such sites these days? cheaper= better

Thanks in advance.. let me know
marshall

Keep an eye out at SGI, if it doesn't have to be licensed you can probably pick up something there cheap.I bought a 92 Ranger 4x4 for $500.UsedRegina.com and UsedStoon are good bets as well.

there is a nice little tracker in sgi right now.
i was looking on the PBR website and there seems to be an 89 Bronco II, so i may go check that out on saturday.
BII's dont normally go for too much $$

I was at SGI in Regina today, they have an 87 Bronco II with good tires and not much body damage that they want $650 for so you could probably get it for $550 or so.

but weighing the costs or driving an hour north of the city to get the trailer, then an hour back, then the trip south to regina and back, just wouldnt be cost effictive.

i also know of a couple people who have a couple BII's and rangers sitting in their back yards, so i might go knock on some doors

ssoo.... i think i may have found my "cheap truck"

1986 dodge power ram.
didnt buy it as of yet..
still deciding

has extra front fenders, hood, and grille, front axle, and tranny. runs good.. possible missfire. clunks when shifts into gear. previos owner started taking out the CAD system and installing lockig hubs but didnt finish. the current axle in the truck needs the axle shafts put it
dash is all apart, but has everything to put it back together.
it wasnt the windsheild it needed, but the driver side door window. its smashed out. power locks and power windows. locks dont work, windows do but the pass side doesnt roll down all the way.
fair amount of body damage on the passenger side.. tires seem good. 3 at about 70% one BFG M/T at about •

a little bit of rust but not too much. doors are also hard to close and dont quite line up perfectly but livable. all lights and signals work except the interior light. fairly dirty underneath(grease/oil) but no apppearant marks on the ground from leaking.
timing is also slightly advanced.

i think if i offered him $300-$350 for it i could straighten the body damage easily, take the shafts out of the spare axle and put them in the current one, determine if the tranny is a problem or not. then sell the extra parts and make some of my money back...

what do you guys figure?
any advice.. please, it will help.

EDIT: also possibly lifted according to a buddy of mine that is a huge ram head.(dodge guy)
