Go to the "flex a lite" website. They sell elec fans and have an applicaion list. There are lots of fans out there but i bought their fan for my 94 suburban. I have an 81 f150 i'm working on now and plan to put the model 220 in that truck later. I got it from summitracing.com The fan does not even come on unless you sit at idle for a long time. I am happy with mine. You can really feel the difference in power to.
Hope this helps,
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
I did swap in a dual electric fan from a 2000 caravan I picked it up at a local wreckers and bought an ajustable thermostat switch from the parts store. Total investment of about $60 canadian and it keeps the truck cool even on a high 30/approx 95f day! I dont know what the cfm ratings are on the fans, But if the fans are on you can feel the breeze behind the truck!

Since you do a lot of off-road hard work where the engine can get pretty hot, I'd suggest 2400-2600cfm.

i had an electric fan with my 302 and it ran fine in the winter but as soon as the temp got up over 80 deg (f) it always overheated. there was nothing i could do about it idling it would heat up. i would stick to your stock fan or just add one on if possible.
