Just got my O-Ring kit, does anyone know if I will have to remove the exhaust manifold to take off the oil cooler on a 1990 E-350,I hope not.Any help would be appreciated,Thanks!
I couldnt tell you exactly about the E-350 but on my 1993 F-350 you need to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine 2-3inches to give it clearance over the engine cradle.
i don't think the exhaust manifold is in the way but like BombThreat said, you need to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up enough to get to the oil cooler off to do replacement. how much room have you got on the top side of the engine? you got enough to get the engine out of the way?
if i'd had the guts to do it, would have been better than the $$$ that i paid the ford wrenches to do it. that little repair and new front main seals together got me for $400. ouch! made me decide to do my own work after that.
