Trailer brake

Not ford related but need help anyways. Can I test the brakes on the camper by simply using a 12v car battery and hooking the gnd and trailer brake signals on the camper plug?

I used my Husky riding lawnmower battery to test the brakes on my TT while I was rebuilding it. as long as one of the brake wires goes to grnd and the other to hot.

If the battery's charged, just pull the breakaway system pin to test 'em (you DO have a breakaway system, right?). Just make sure the TT isn't plugged into the TV.
