I have a 1985 f250 with the 6.9. Im thinkin about sellin it. Its a 2wd (reason for selling), and has 96k miles on it. I paid $2750 for it and have had $1100 work done on it. Is $3000 about right? Too much? Any help would be nice. It has a gooseneck hitch, and is the XLT Lariat. It has cruise and a JVC cd player w/sony speakers i put in it. C6 auto. Red. Im 16 and have no clue really as to what to ask for it.
3000 Ins't bad for a clean truck. It also depends where you are located. Around here it would have to be pretty clean to get 3k. There are several trucks around here. That can matter more then anything sometimes.
central illinois. I had a little accident with the door. Its dented in, but 95% of the paints still looks good. Would I get enough more out of it to be worth finding a replacement door? Also how can i put a pic of it on here? Im a new user and jw
This is kinda the wrong forum, but maybe ill get less biased info by postin here. After I sell that I want to get something newer. Like a 99-03. How reliable are the 5.4 & 6.8 engines?
It can really vary. I live in Victoria BC area and there are easily a dozen of that vintage truck for sale in the local classifieds, starting at $1300 in fair shape. I have one to sell after I change the rear end and I'll be asking about $2K.
With fuel costs rising, bigger vehicles seem to be getting harder to sell. Diesel here currently costs more than premium unleaded - works out to about $5.12 / gallon. ($1.28 litre). Be willing to be flexible if you have a serious buyer.
