84 f150

I have been wanderin around for a while here and there, looking on ebay, and searching the net, but haven't had the luck to find a lowered mid 80's f150 lowered. Is there anything bolt on to make it easier? Anyone using airbags? to raise and lower? I am considering using the front clip of mine for another project to update the brakes for an antique truck. I am hoping I can use the front from this truck to make it happen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Curt from Ks.

The frontend of these trucks use the twin-I-beam suspension. This suspension is very difficult to work with, and the only real way to lower it is with expensive dropped beams. You are better off getting a suspension from another vehicle.

Good to know, as far back as I remembered I didn't recall ever seeing any lowered f 150s from that era, but I thought maybe I just wasn't in the right demographics.

Is the twin I-beam a good suspension? I ask because my pickup does not currently run, and I haven't had much time to try it out before it went bad.

They are good if left in stock form, though some people have trouble with tire wear.
