i've replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electric. i've replumbed everything from the tank to the carb with 3/8" line. i have a new hard line on the carb with a pressure gauge. the gauge reads between 5.5 and 6 psi with the truck on. it fires right up and idles pretty normal, but if i hit the throttle, it bogs and sputters. if i really ease into the throttle, it's okay, but if i tap it, it sounds like it's sucking air in, but it just bogs down. if i hit it hard enough, it will actually cut off. this problem started just before i started having fuel pump issues, consequently leading me to go electric. i never changed anything to cause this to happen. it ran great one day and like this the next. the truck's always had awesome throttle response until this. what could it be?
Sounds like perhaps a small piece of debris has gotten into the carb and clogged something.
With the engine off, look down the front barrels and open the throttle. See if fuel is spraying from both nozzle tips.
