throttle body and tps

this morning i cleaned the throttle body on my 95 302
i think when i took the tps off i turned the prongs that catch on the throttle shaft
will this make a difference when i put it back together
once i had it running again and took it for a drive to relearn the computer i noticed the throttle responce is way better and smoother
the only thing is my rpm seems to stay high when i shift and when i come to stop it takes a bit for the idle to come back to 700
when i brought it home and pulled the codes with engine not running i got a system pass and with the engine running i got 172 system to lean and i did the test again then i got a system pass
my tps is good as i checked that when i had it apart i think i need an o2 sensor
could i have done something wrong to the tps when i was cleaning it

1. Did you clean the idle air control motor? If no, clean it. If yes you might need to replace.

2. You need to reset the voltage on your tps. Get a voltmeter and reset to correct voltage. I think around .98 volts.

my tps is not adjustable
it has the round mounting holes
there is also 3 pins on the conector i think i had the two right pins for checking the resistance
