I have a 1990 F250 with a fuel injected 302, 5 speed, and whe i start it up some times it starts fine, then after a while of running it goes to a very low idle or stalls out and makes it really difficult to drive, some times i have to press the gas pedal a bit to get it started and it won't run on its own untill its warmed up a bit. I have had these problems before about 5 months ago and it went away after a few days but its happening agian and has been happening every day for the last few weeks, its really annoying and when it stalls in intersections it can be quite embarrasing. I have heared about these things happening to other people with the same motor, and i was wondering if any one else has had these problems and know any remedies for it or have any idea what is going on? Any help would be much appreciated as i am running out of patience. Thanks :-)
could be the Idle Air Control motor sticking. seems to be very common on most ford products. very easy to replace normally, duno about the cost though. you may get away with taking it off and cleaning it up good with some throttle body cleaner. also while you are at it, clean up the throttle body real good.
