15.7 mpg doing 80-85 mph seems pretty good...

Speed really affects mileage on these. They seem to do very well below 70. Above 70 it drops rapidly. I ran 60-65 and got a little under 19. I would get about 17 running 70-75. 75-80, more like 15.5-16. One thing I notice is that when you start getting above 70, the boost starts to climb rapidly. At 70, I'm running about 4psi. At 80, it's more like 7 or 8. 85 it's like 10. That's why you take such a hit. Maintaining those speeds with our "bricks" takes a lot of power...

Yeah, like Joe said, speed kills the mpg. Keep those rpm's around 2000 or less and your milage will go up. Finding a line of truckers helps too (just dont follow too close) and they know all the good rest stops.

I would agree that 90k isn't a lot of miles but you probably have some salt used in the winter in MI. That can do a job on parts quite fast. I had to replace ball joints at 68k and the truck had just come from KC. U-joints would be an easy fix if that is the cause of the vibration.

yeah my ball joints are bad too i got to get to them and im putin a 6.0 tq converter in but u joints are easy soo how many of you had to do u joints less then 100,000 miles and i also have a clunk when from drive to reverse ...but when you watch theres no play i guess i gotta crawl under and feel its pretty rusted under there and on the driveshaft tho...
