I recently went on a road trip in my van, and it sat for a couple of days once I reached my desired location. When I tried to start it after it had sat, it wouldn't start. Eventually, I began to small very fuel rich exhaust. So I pulled the doghouse, and I found that my coil wire had been knocked loose.
Now, when I accelerate hard or have the cruise on and need to give it some gas, there's a weird "jolting" feel (out of lack for a better word) after a few seconds. I don't know if this is a miss and I fouled the plugs during my coil wire escapade or is there something wrong with my tranny? By the way, the van doesn't flash any maintenence codes.
Right on, sorry about that. It's a 95 with a 351, and it's started to do this when it locks out in 3rd and trying to accelerate hard. There's no change in the engine pitch or anything (ruling out fouled plugs and a miss), so I'm almost convinced it's tranny, and if that were to be the case, do you have any ideas about what it could be?
On top of that, when it doesn't "jolt" when going up hills with the cruise on, it has started to make a sort of ticking noise every once and a while. The noise is coming from the engine, and I've never owned a Ford, so I have no clue as to if this is a problem or not.
