So a code reader will pull the codes that the computer catches.
If no check engine light is on but I'm getting the Stalk OD "OFF" light to go into flashing "safe mode"--obviously transmission-- will a code have been thrown into the computer that a scanner can pull?
Also, since the OD "OFF" flashing light is not evident on start up but returns after a period of drive- must the scanner/code reader be activated and applied during this flashing "OFF" timeframe. (that is, do I have to read/pull codes while drving or idling during this "OFF" flashing interval?
FYI: Finally, I'm jumping the gun here but I'm highly suspicious in that this problem began the same time I had ABS warning light activated. Replaced two units one was the HCU-the other the ABS- this eliminated the ABS light but the the OD "OFF" flashing has continued.
Have the same problem..... When I first run the truck its fine, I jumped on the freeway to go to work and got the OD indicator light to come on got to work shut the Bronco off then on again and then no more flashing light. on may way home it happened again. runs fine on the street as soon as jumped on the freeway i got the flashing OD off light. Hope somebody can help us out..
The shifting is handled by the ECM. Check the connectors and the wiring harness to the transmission. If it's warming up before doing it, you mave have the wire bundle close to the exhaust. Also, how does teh fluid look?
The fluid is clean, and yeah I will be checking the connectors on the VSS, and MLPS. If that doesnt help Ill just pull the tranny and check the internals.
Got the Bronco pretty cheap so doing the tranny wont hurt the pocket.
