Ball joint fun...rust!!
Number 61 in this picture is frozen solid to the knuckle. Whats a good method for extraction?

thats easy, the spindles get stuck all the time, all you need is a heavy hammer with a small enough head to whack the spindle between where the bearing races ride. usually a 3-5 pound short handled sledge works good or a big **** ball pean hammer, it will pop off after a few whacks in different directions. just dont smack the bearing races, other than that a few knciks in the center wont hurt a thing

My spindle was magic rust-welded by aliens to the knuckle. I tried the 3lb hammer trick to no avail. I tried an 8lb sledge, more PB, punches, chisels, a torch, block of wood and a roll of duct tape at the end of the spindle for better pounding leverage and to not damage threads. IT FINALLY BROKE FREE!!! I think the spindle is toast anyhow after all the abuse.
