oil pressure

i have a 400 in my 77 250. the oil pressure seems to always want to be low. i know that there is a difference some where, because my 79 with a 351 has perfect pressure, but is there anything i can do to help with it, possibly change sending unit? not sure, just wonderin, but dont want to rebuild this motor at the moment.

is the rear main seal leaking?

not 100% sure, i believe so, but not that much
i would like to drop oil pan, and put new gasket, and possibly new rear main seal, but not sure how hard, and if i can do it in the truck.

Sometimes the senders go bad. I'd hook a mechanical gage up & see just where it runs before I went and bought a new sender though.

ok, well, what if i just replace the oil pressure, and water temp guage together at once, because of the original guages gettin wornout?

I had low oil pressure in my '76 351M, and when I tore it down, nearly all my cam bearings were shot, yet all the main's were nice and clean. So I'd say its safe to say that I was loosing all my pressure from those cam bearings.
