Cruise Control??

Hey,
On My 2000 F-250 my cruise seems to stopped working. i have a SP Performance turbo brake installed which uses the ON OFF cruise switch to be turned off and on, that still works so i believe the ON, Off part is fine, any ideas??

Cruise Control on my 2001 has been a problem since I took delivery of the truck. It seems to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes it works (IE it turns on at all) and sometimes it will not. I have put up with it, just like the fact that the passenger door lock has never worked. If you find a cure or weak component, please let me know

What motor do you have in your truck? The diagnosis is different for gas vs. diesel.

OverEngineer, I hope you've had the cruise control recall done on your V10. It has to do with trucks catching fire.

Here's a self test you can do to isolate your problem. Let us know how many flashes you get and we'll tell you where to go from there.

That reminds me mine acted up earlier this week. For the 7.3 you have to have a scanner and run a switch test for diagnostics. If you post your location maybe someone lives close by that has a PSD capable scanner.

My problem happens to be the clutch pedal position switch. I need to go play with that again today.

Yes the Ford dealer has the correct scanner, but they usually charge the most in town to use it. I just went and looked and I've got a broken spring inside my CPP sensor.

If your buddies can tell you what's wrong we should be able to help you fix it.

Good Stuff and Reputation Points

That file was a gold mine. Thank you so much. I am going to do the self test and see what happens. It's nice when a Leather Neck can help out a Swab Jocky. I'm tapping your rep points for the file. Thanks!

Oh! I did get the fuse link put in a couple of years ago.

Well if I had know you were a swabbie.....

Let me know which chart you need based on your flashes and I'll post the steps to take from there.

Edit: Thanks for the rep points.
